Did you know a child acquires a brain injury every 30 minutes in the UK? Approximately 20,000 children every year will need some level of additional support after they acquire a brain injury - in 89% cases of children with an acquired brain injury have no physical signs of disability, however they do have very subtle yet complex support needs that change over time.
CBIT's training on childhood acquired brain injury aims to fill this gap in knowledge. The workshops provide a no-nonsense, jargon free approach to childhood acquired brain injury.

Who is this Workshop is suitable for?
The CBIT one day workshops are suitable for Clinical Negligence Teams, Personal Injury Lawyers, Case Managers, Support Workers - anyone who has to provide support to children and young people affected by childhood acquired brain injury.
Workshop objectives
CBIT’s one day workshop demonstrates how and why a childhood acquired brain injury can affect the way a child thinks, feels and responds to the world around them. More importantly the workshop provides strategies to help you better understand the needs of these children and young people.
By the end of the workshop delegates will know and understand:
- What defines an acquired brain injury
- The wider Impact on the family environment
- Why acquired brain injury is a hidden disability and often not fully understood by others
- How this disability is likely to affect the support that a child requires
- How implement practical strategies for supporting children and young people
