Fundraising Legacies

Leave a Gift that lasts... Increasingly, charity supporters are choosing to make a donation to their favourite causes in their will. Making a will is something that we would all rather put off and leave for another day. However, in order to secure the future of loved ones it is vital that a will is made so that you may provide for all the people that you care for.As a supporter of the Child Brain injury Trust, you may wish to continue to offer support in your will. This kind of donation can really help CBIT to make a significant difference to the lives of children, young people and families affected by childhood brain injury. You could support CBIT in your will by leaving us a cash gift. This is a fixed amount of money that you would leave to the charity. Cash gifts do however decrease in value over time so we recommend that they are reviewed periodically. As an alternative, you could leave a share of your estate to CBIT. If you currently have people who are currently financially dependent on you, this share may be quite small: a few percent say.If you have no dependents, then you may feel any share might be larger. Finally, you could leave CBIT a gift in kind. This is an item that you decide to leave us in your will. This includes pieces of furniture or jewellery, property, shares and much more. Most importantly, it is vital that you seek professional legal advice when thinking about making a will or making changes to an existing will. For more information, please contact Rachel Ritter on 01869 341075.
