Julie Young, Project Manager
julie.young@cbituk.org

Julie hails from Ashington and has a good knowledge of North East. Living in rural Northumberland with her husband, teenage son and her wire-haired fox terrier, her degree is in history (University of Hull). Julie's other passions are music, theatre, travel and food (though not necessarily in that order!)

Julie's background is in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. She has previously worked for Social Services in Mental Health, Fostering & Adoption and the Youth Offending Service, where she was Victim Liaison Officer for Northumberland.

Jenny BartonJenny Barton North East volunteer
Jenny has worked as a volunteer for CBIT since December 2007. She lives in Throckley, Newcastle and has a degree in Social Sciences.

Jenny currently works full time as a Learning Mentor at Whitley Bay High School with vulnerable young people and has previously worked as a learning mentor in Norham Community Technology college and in the voluntary sector for the YMCA as a detached youth Worker.

When she gets some spare time, she enjoys creative writing and keeping fit.

David Young
North East volunteer

David has been an volunteer since the inception of CBIT in the North East.  Having recently retired from a senior post in education, he has returned to his native North East where he has extensive business interests. An author with more than a dozen published works in the education field he is a Trustee of a Yorkshire based charity. Recently he has been working in schools on a pupil centred programme designed to promote Anti Bullying strategies.
