CBIT has secured funding to set up a Child and Family Support Project for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Caroline Molloy has now taken on the role of Child and Family Support Officer for this area and will work closely with families and professionals to provide support.
For more information on CBIT’s Child and Family Support across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire please contact Caroline Molloy via e-mail at: carolinemolloy@cbituk.org or via telephone on: 01869 341075.
The Child Brain Injury Trust is currently carrying out research about childhood acquired brain injury across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We are looking for families to help us by sharing their stories of their life after their child had an acquired brain injury.
If you are a young person with an acquired brain injury or a parent of someone with an acquired brain injury and would like to help, please contact Caroline Molloy via e-mail at: carolinemolloy@cbituk.org via or telephone on 01869 341075.
CBIT has an office in Newcastle and our member of staff, Julie Young,
covers the entire North East. Julie’s role is to provide direct
support to families following childhood acquired brain injury and is organising
events and social opportunities for families over the coming year. Julie
would love to hear from any family affected by childhood acquired brain
injury and you contact her by clicking on this link.
We are keen to see CBIT's model of Child and Family Support up and running
across England but we have been unable to secure funding in order to do
so. If you think you might know of a way to make this happen please let
us know because above all else, we know that following acquired brain
injury families need to have the links with professionals within the community
who understand and support them in a way that reflects their changing
needs.

CBIT is aware how isolating it can be for families of children with an acquired brain injury.
We have created two new family support projects: Compass and In-Touch designed to put families in contact with one another to gain further information, support or just to chat to families who have similar experiences.
